After withdrawing the bill to require a valid QR code in public transport, today it was the turn of the bill for QR codes in public places that suffered the same fate.
According to Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova, the government will submit amendments to the second reading of the draft “Federal Law on Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare of the Population”.

“The bill on QR codes will be withdrawn from consideration. We will discuss this issue on Monday in the Council of the State Duma. I am sure that Members will support this decision. The bill must be finalized, I want to thank the representatives of the government for understanding it,” Viacheslav Volodin.
The news is also confirmed by the deputy and vice president of the State Duma, Pyotr Tolstoy who wrote the comment:
“I want to thank the representatives of the executive branch; the Government, for understanding the ambiguity of this law, which caused a negative reaction in society.”
